Recently undergoing a back-to-brick refurbishment, the cottage retains many original features,including exposed stone walls, floorboards, and saddle racks once used by the former Ostler. you’ll find two beautifully appointed bedrooms—one on the ground floor and another in the original mezzanine. The cottage is tastefully decorated with crisp neutral shades from Farrow &
Ball and features a tumbled limestone floor with underfloor heating.
The in-frame shaker-style kitchen, hand-painted in Farrow and Ball Shaded White and crafted by RJC Furniture Kitchens and Bedrooms, is equipped with DeVol fixtures, Smeg appliances, and a professional Bertazzoni cooker. Antique furniture adds character throughout, including a vintage school chemistry table with Bunsen burner marks and industrial lighting, complemented by antique Ercol chairs and a reversible railway bench. The vaulted kitchen area serves as a stunning focal point, while the comfy leather seating surrounding the log burner was sourced from a local antique shop, Good Finds.
The bedrooms continue the theme of local antiques, featuring a WW2 RAF carpenter’s locker and Dutch milking stools. Luxurious Feather and Black beds are dressed in Egyptian cotton bedding, and each en-suite includes premium toiletries from Neal’s Yard and The White Company.Vintage lighting sourced from across the UK, including handmade Lyngard light shades, enhances the cottage’s charm. The landscaped gardens are bordered by Portuguese laurel trees,honeysuckle, and cedar and hazel fencing, with multiple seating areas, a hot tub, BBQ, and firepit. A private driveway offers parking for six cars, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens withviews of the nearby 12th-century St. Oswald’s Church.
